Raymond G. Potter
Jurassic Park movie theater exhibit
This plinth was part of a larger floor display that I worked on with a few others for a local theater's premier of the original Jurassic Park in 1993.
Other components of the scene were a baby raptor, and also a dinosaur neck and head towering 9 feet tall on which I only worked peripherally.
I designed the plinth based on a picture of the exhibit plinths in the movie's pre-release promotional flyer. The 3D plinth is mainly foamcore and other paper materials with sprayed on stone texture.
The skeletal logo was hand-painted using a Xerox as a template. The Brachiosaurus logo was individual foamcore letters airbrushed in the tri-tone then glued on for a dimensional effect.
